The design base is located in the Wenmiaoping area at the south end of Changsha historical urban area. The overall planning structure of the existing historical trail in the old urban area of Changsha is the historical trail structure of "axis+ring line+branch line", connecting the Wenmiaoping in series; The core area of Changsha Ancient City is the essence of Changsha Ancient City. Facing Yuelu Mountain, Xiangjiang River and Juzizhou, it forms the characteristic spatial pattern of "Shanshui Island City". The Wenmiaoping block is named after the Changsha Imperial College Palace, which is located here in history. Now there is only one stone memorial archway left in the Imperial College Palace. The design scheme should respond to the high-quality development strategy of China's new urbanization, and explore the urban renewal path and method of residential historic city blocks with the lowest impact, the highest benefit and the maximum value by integrating multiple goals such as historical value mining, characteristic style remodeling, urban Spatial analysis, community demand response and sustainable reuse of existing buildings. The plan focuses on restoring the vitality of the cities along the riverside city wall, and comprehensively considers the specific strategies for building the vitality belt from the perspectives of transportation system, walking system, three-dimensional transportation, etc. Introducing a cross road three-dimensional pedestrian park to solve the problem of urban waterfront space, forming a walking system between urban parks and architectural public spaces, and combining the entertainment and performance culture of Changsha, the content concept of architectural design was proposed. In the stage of urban design research, starting from the current situation and historical data of the site, the focus is on the changes in the material space and function of the site. Based on the study of a large number of historical maps and the recording of clues such as site elevation differences, the specific location of the city wall in the Wenmiaoping area in history has been determined, and on this basis, the concept of multiple layered historical slices of the site has been proposed. The riverside vitality zone on the west side of the site corresponds to the historical slice of the industrial development of the site in the overall urban design, but the current situation faces many problems such as insufficient vitality and being far away from riverside activities. In response to these issues with the land parcel, a design strategy has been developed around the concept of "connection and continuation". In the architectural design phase, the old factory building and new building at the entrance of Baihe Lane will be integrated into a riverside art block. In terms of functional planning, combined with the contemporary urban culture of Changsha, a small multifunctional performance space is placed, which can undertake multiple functions and create various usage scenarios and spatial atmospheres through the variability of indoor space. In the plan, the performance space will be raised and the ground floor space will be opened to create an urban channel connecting Douchi Garden Lane in the east to the riverside area in the west. The elevated performance space is integrated with the reserved factory building on the north side through a sloping roof and connecting volume, while the south side is enclosed with the reserved factory building by a second floor platform to form a courtyard; The second floor platform extends to connect with the three-dimensional park along the riverbank. At the level of urban design, research is conducted on the tourist routes of the venue crowd, focusing on the urban spatial sequence between the surrounding areas of the city - the riverside zone, three-dimensional parks, city wall zones, and school palace zones. With the intervention of art centers, the urban space within the venue is stitched together.
