喀什古城在同时作为旅游景区与居民社区发展的过程中既拥有自身独特的文化魅力，也面临着传统手工业衰退的严峻考验。本方案针对促进喀什老城传统手工艺文化传承与促进当地居民与游客交流互动这两项目标进行设计，并且认为这两项目标可以合而为一，以彼此为媒介互相成就，形成一个正向循环。
我们从喀什高台民居中提取可转译的元素，将原本老城内的闲置房屋更新为塑造公共文化空间的建筑甚至装置，同时打破当地原有以街道划分工种、产品以个人作坊、博物馆形式展出造成的隔离性体验，让真正的传统手工艺体验将游客、居民、艺术家们汇聚一堂，造就五光十色却又可以真实碰触的喀什奇境。
这是针对喀什古城景区游客与居民使用空间重合的现状，因地制宜地打造出的同时服务于二者的景区文化空间，期望以润物细无声的方式促进民族文化的传承与进化、民族团结的繁荣。
The Old City of Kashgar is both a tourist attraction and a residential community that is facing the decline of traditional handicrafts. This project is designed to promote the cultural heritage of traditional handicrafts in the old city of Kashgar and the interaction between local residents and tourists, and we believe that these two goals can be combined into a positive cycle by using each other as a medium for mutual achievement.
We extracted translatable elements from Kashgar's Gaotai dwellings and transformed the unused houses in the old city into buildings and even installations that shape the public cultural space, while breaking the isolation of the local experience caused by the division of work types by streets and the display of products in individual workshops and museums, so that the real traditional handicraft experience can bring together tourists, residents and artists, creating a colorful but real touchable Kashgar's Wonderland.
This is a localized cultural space that serves both the tourists and the residents of Kashgar's ancient city, in response to the overlap between the two spaces, with the hope of promoting the heritage and evolution of ethnic culture and the prosperity of national unity in a silent way.
