In July 2018 the new North - South subway line was opened to the public. Amsterdam needed new transportation possibilities for the ever growing city. Two new stations were constructed on the north bank of the river ’t IJ. And on the south bank of the river five stations we’re built just below the surface of this canal city built entirely on piles. Truly a phenomenal construction project without equal.
